As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for protecting our organization's computer systems and networks. You will work to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities, implement security solutions, and monitor systems for any breaches or unauthorized access. Your role will be crucial in safeguarding our sensitive information and ensuring the integrity and availability of our systems.
Responsibilities:
Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications.
Design and implement security measures to protect computer systems and networks from cyber threats, including malware, ransomware, and unauthorized access.
Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Monitor systems for security incidents and respond promptly to security breaches, including conducting forensic investigations and implementing incident response procedures.
Configure and manage security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), antivirus software, and encryption tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and compliance, to integrate security requirements into the development lifecycle and infrastructure.
Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees and certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
Proven experience as a Security Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and penetration testing tools.
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and scripting purposes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
Familiarity with cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
