Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Merchandise Analyst to join our retail home showroom team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in optimizing product assortment, managing inventory levels, and analyzing sales data to drive business growth and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Inventory Analysis: Analyze sales data and inventory levels to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide regular reports and actionable insights to the merchandising team.
  • Forecasting: Develop sales forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and promotional activities. Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure accurate demand planning and stock replenishment.
  • Product Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the performance of product lines, categories, and individual items. Make recommendations for product introductions, discontinuations, and pricing adjustments.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences. Use this information to support strategic planning and product selection.
  • Promotional Planning: Assist in planning and executing promotional activities. Analyze the impact of promotions on sales and profitability, and suggest improvements for future campaigns.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales, inventory, and market data. Utilize data visualization tools to present findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the merchandising, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure a cohesive approach to product management and sales optimization.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and negotiate favorable terms.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a merchandising, retail, or analytical role.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of retail math and inventory management principles.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ERP systems and retail analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of the home furnishings and décor market.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
