Roles & Responsibilities
Manage and review the Public Realm & Landscaping strategies and design.
Review Public Realm & Landscaping strategies and design packages.
Coordinate with Stakeholders to ensure comments and recommendations are incorporated and closed out.
Utilize in‐depth knowledge and experience to liaise with industry leading Public Realm Subject Matter Experts to endorse design submissions.
Manage and report risks to ensure strict adherence to the agreed design programs and develop a risk mitigations.
Support Design Coordination Director and Project Design Office to develop and implement design governance process and provide direct feedback to the Director on effectiveness of process and areas for improvement.
Participate in the establishment of Engineering/Architectural/Sustainability and other discipline design guidelines, standards, and codes to ensure compliance with international standards and project vision and theme.
Provide recommendations for sign‐off of each stage of the Public Realm strategy and design cycles (i.e. Concept Strategy & Development Program, CMP, DMP, 30%, 60%, 90% etc.).
Extend support, including technical guidance, planning and logistical information, to the Project Design and Execution Office for design competition bids and tenders.
Coordinate with the Urban Planning Office to develop design review KPI's and submit to Design Coordination Director for approval before implementation across all review activities.
Desired Candidate Profile
15 or more years’ experience in, and understanding of, the design of mega, multidisciplinary Public Realm projects, at least 7 of which as senior lead in Public Realm design.
Understanding of the diverse needs of communities with respect to public realm and landscaping services.
Extensive experience of working in the Public Realm sector at a senior level with understanding of relevant policy and initiatives at local, regional and national levels.
Excellent knowledge of best practice in the delivery of public and Sustainable Landscaping services.
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, design related tasks simultaneously.
In depth understanding of business/venture strategies with ability to problem-solve and make effective decisions in a fast‐paced environment, with good knowledge of technology to support real estate development and business management.
Proven ability to build professional relationships and trust, with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders alike. Interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
Fully computer literate, capable of using specialist building design programs and applications in checking building design standards.
Strong leadership ability, rational judgement and reasoning skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively at design office, site, management, and client levels.
Bachelor’s degree in landscape/architecture from an accredited university – Masters' degree with postgraduate qualification in Urban Design preferred.
Professional registration and accreditation with Landscape/Architecture or Urban Design Institute
Excellent communication skills, with high standard of English (oral and written) and the ability to present confidently to small and large audiences.
