Roles & Responsibilities
Direction and oversight of Risk Management function.
Lead reviews of the Risk register in Project meetings and workshops.
Embed the awareness of risk at all levels of the organization such that Project decisions are risk-informed and risk-mitigated where feasible.
Perform Risk management activities which includes risk identification, assessment, and mitigation actions for Risks in the Risk Register.
Implement risk management processes, business practices and work methods to ensure that risk is recognized and effectively managed.
Lead Audits on the Risk Management process and Risk Register.
Responsible for Monitoring risk performance, examining the risks for changes in impact, probability, or control effectiveness.
Responsible to assign Risk and Action Owners to ensure better risk controlling and/or mitigation actions.
Responsible for anticipation and prevention of the risk events rather than on reaction to those events and the correction of their consequences.
Responsible to perform Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessment on a periodic basis or as required on the Projects. Identify plans to further evaluate or treating the identified risks so that appropriate mitigation actions are identified to minimize or nullify the impact.
Develop Risk Implementation Plans, which considers strategic planning, the preparation of proposals and project execution with the objective of mitigating risks, thereby promoting project safety performance, cost reduction and minimizing schedule delays.
Ensure that project teams are fully aware of the consequence of change upon mitigating and controlling risk.
Support project teams in the risk evaluation process.
Responsible for ensuring all the Mitigation actions and the contingency plans are correctly documented. Any cost impact exceeding the budget to be escalated to Senior Management.
Responsible to ensure Risk Register is updated on a periodic basis or as decided along with Risk status when open, and close risks that are no longer valid.
Responsible for Reporting changes and progress with risk response actions to senior management to support effective decision making.
Responsible to hold brainstorming sessions and Risk workshops which will be attended by all Risk and Action Owners along with the Project Leadership.
Facilitate the development of Risk action Plan for all extreme and high classification risks. Conducts regular follow-up with the corresponding Risk Owners to ensure Risk Action plans are in place and are being updated.
Responsible to perform Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA) on an agreed timeline on the Projects.
Desired Candidate Profile
15 or more years’ risk management experience on large scale programmes.
Proven track record in leading the risk management process within a tier 1 organization.
Excellent multi‐disciplinary experience across all stages of development.
Strong mix of Corporate understanding / experience with major programme and project delivery.
Ability to deal with many stakeholders with competing priorities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent listener.
Strong leader, Highly agile and adaptable.
Attention to detail with strong organization skills.
Hands on experience with various risk management systems.
Hands on experience with risk management tools/assessments.
team player with ability to lead a multinational, multi‐ dimensional organization.
At least 10 years in the Middle East in significant development programmes and projects.
Relevant technical Degree.
Project Management Certification preferred.
