1. Machine Setup and Operation (Turning/Milling):Set up and operate CNC Turning and CNC Milling machines (lathes and vertical/horizontal machining centers) for the production of precision components, particularly for the barrel line.Load and secure raw materials, tooling, and fixtures onto the machines.Initiate and monitor machine cycles, adjusting settings, speeds, and feeds to optimize production and maintain part quality.2. CNC Programming and Control:Proven expertise in operating and troubleshooting machines utilizing both Fanuc and Siemens CNC controllers.Perform program edits, offset adjustments (wear and geometry), and tool work-offs at the machine control to maintain tolerances.Collaborate with CNC Programmers/Supervisors on optimization and validation of new programs.3. Technical Interpretation and Quality Control:Thoroughly read, interpret, and work from complex machine drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Conduct in-process and final inspection of manufactured parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges) to ensure adherence to tight dimensional tolerances.Identify and correct machining discrepancies and process deviations.4. Tooling and Equipment Knowledge:Possess comprehensive knowledge of various cutting tools (inserts, drills, end mills, reamers, etc.), including selection, application, and proper handling for different materials and machining operations.Manage tool life, perform basic cutting tool changes, and maintain tool inventory at the machine.5. Maintenance and Safety:Perform daily routine maintenance and preventative checks on CNC machines (e.g., checking fluid levels, chip management, general cleaning) to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and machine guarding.6. Documentation and Reporting:Accurately complete all production, quality, and maintenance log sheets.Document any production issues, deviations, or machine malfunctions and communicate them clearly to the supervisor.
