We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager/Operations Manager to lead this initiative from the ground up.Job Overview:The General Manager/Operations Manager will be responsible for setting up and managing the equine hospital from inception to operational excellence. This includes overseeing the procurement of medical equipment, designing the facility layout, hiring and training staff, and ensuring the hospital runs efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equine healthcare, hospital management, and operations, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing similar facilities.Key Responsibilities:Hospital Setup and Planning:Lead the planning and execution of the equine hospital setup, including facility design, layout, and infrastructure.Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure the facility meets all regulatory and operational requirements.Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.Procurement and Equipment Management:Identify and procure high-quality medical equipment, tools, and supplies necessary for equine healthcare.Evaluate and select reputable brands and suppliers for medical equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with industry standards.Establish relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts for equipment and supplies.Operational Management:Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the hospital’s day-to-day operations.Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of hospital staff, including veterinarians, technicians, and administrative personnel.Ensure the hospital complies with all local, national, and international regulations and standards for equine healthcare.Financial Management:Prepare and manage the hospital’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability and cost control.Monitor expenses, revenue, and profitability, and provide regular financial reports to senior management.Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings.Quality Assurance and Patient Care:Ensure the highest standards of equine care and patient safety are maintained at all times.Implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve hospital services.Address and resolve any operational or patient care issues promptly.Stakeholder Engagement:Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, veterinarians, suppliers, and other stakeholders.Represent the hospital at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.Promote the hospital’s services and reputation within the equine community.
