The primary responsibility of a QC Inspector is to ensure that all fabrication activities meet the applicable quality standards and comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant codes and standards. The QC Inspector is responsible for carrying out stage-wise inspections, including Incoming Goods Inspection Report (IGIR) approval, dimensional inspections, and monitoring, witnessing, and recording all required testing activities. The QC Inspector shall verify material identification and traceability, ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and confirm that welding, NDT, heat treatment, and pressure testing are performed as per the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP). The QC Inspector is also responsible for identifying non-conformances, raising NCRs when required, ensuring corrective actions are implemented, and maintaining accurate quality records and documentation. Coordination with production, engineering, and third-party inspection agencies is an integral part of the role to ensure timely approvals and final clearance of fabricated equipment.
