Job Description - Assistant I&C TechnicianJob TitleAssistant I&C TechnicianLocation: Abu DhabiExperience Required: 2-5 YearsIndustry: Power Plant / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / RefineryJob SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated Assistant Instrumentation & Control Technician to support our maintenance,commissioning, and troubleshooting activities. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in thepower generation or oil and gas sector and will be responsible for assisting in the calibration, installation, and testing offield instruments and control systems.Key Responsibilities- Assist in installation, calibration, and maintenance of field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level).- Support loop checking and function testing of instruments, transmitters, and control valves.- Assist in commissioning activities, including instrument testing and fault rectification.- Perform cable glanding, termination, and continuity checks.- Assist in control valve calibration (pneumatic, smart positioners - Fisher, Flowserve, etc.).- Support troubleshooting activities on instruments such as RTDs, thermocouples, gauges, switches.- Read and interpret P&ID, ILD, hook-up drawings, and wiring diagrams.- Follow site safety and work permit procedures during all activities.- Document maintenance and test results in a timely and accurate manner.Key Skills- Working knowledge of DCS systems, control panels, and HART communicators.- Familiarity with tools like Emerson 475 communicator, Fluke multimeter, pressure calibrators.- Ability to understand and follow technical documentation and drawings.- Basic understanding of fire & gas systems and safety instrumentation (preferred).- Good teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn advanced technical tasks. Preferred Qualifications- Diploma in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.- Experience in shutdown, maintenance, or commissioning environments in:- Power Plants- Oil & Gas Facilities- Refineries- Petrochemical Plants- Valid BOSIET (preferred, not mandatory).Working Conditions- Field-based role, often in high-temperature and industrial environments.- May require shift work, extended hours during shutdowns or commissioning phases.- Strict adherence to HSE standards is mandatory.
